Mid-Month State of the Game review time here, and some notables released this month so far; Sims 3 (PC), Prototype, Red Faction, Virtua Tennis, Ghostbusters, Transformers and Tiger Woods.

With the US Open and Tiger Woods picking up a lot of broadcast time, it's a good bet there's a point to releasing a title built up around his name in June.

Top ten titles by sales volume so far for 06/15*:

~ Sims 3 (PC) > 1,500,000
# UFC 2009 Undisputed (X360) 500,000 < 600,000
# Wii Fit (Wii) 400,000 < 500,000
# EA Sports Active (Wii) 300,000 < 400,000
# UFC 2009 Undisputed (PS3) 300,000 < 400,000
# inFamous (PS3) 300,000 < 400,000
# Pokemon Platinum (NDS) 100,000 < 200,000
# Mario Kart Wii 100,000 < 200,000
# Punch-Out!! (Wii) 100,000 < 200,000
# X-Men Origins: Wolverine (X360) 100,000 < 200,000

Combined platform sales of UFC 2009 Undisputed are above 800,000 units which is a really great start and most likely due to a substantial advertising campaign pre-release.

But the King, coming out on June 2, and setting the best release in the companies history, is EA's Sims 3. The ten dollar app for the iPhone even took the #1 spot. Sims 3 is dominating the month of June, though solid sales figures will be available for all of June at July's beginning.

*Sales figures are mean values based on industry reporting and analysis of previous month's sales. As such, they are approximate and ain't gospel, but if we really screw up, we'll own up :)
